CHI Health Emergency Department Renovation

During the summer of 2021, I participated in McCarthy’s Intern Advantage Program and worked with a McCarthy project management team on a $15.6 million renovation in Kearney, Nebraska.

  • I assisted the construction project manager and project engineer with: identifying and assigning fire code punch list items in Procore, managing closeout documents using construction CRM software, writing requests for information to the architect, writing owner progress reports, and putting together a cost estimate for a parking lot:

  • To help ensure that the project was delivered to the standards of the contractual documents, I took field measurements of soffits and verified construction, conducted quantity takeoffs of OFCI items, and tracked the progress of: painting, flooring, and ceiling installation:

  • I also contributed to the safety culture on site by conducting 3 safety inspections per week, leading 4 safety discussions amongst 35 trade professionals, and providing positive reinforcement to ensure that trade professionals upheld McCarthy’s excellent safety standards.
